My Story
DefendersofDignity.org was born from introspective study and exploration of social justice principles at Memphis Theological Seminary. As I delved into the interwoven concepts of justice found in scripture and theology, this platform took shape first as a nascent idea and then as a heartfelt call to engage. It was here that the idea to merge my background in law with my theological studies crystallized, pointing me toward advocating for deeply held convictions.

The vision for DefendersofDignity.org gestated for over a year, nurtured by the notion that the time was ripe to bridge academic theory with practical activism. This notion was given form through a project in Dr. Janel Bakker’s course on Social Justice: Biblical and Theological Foundations. The project went beyond mere academic requirements; it served as a turning point, transforming reflective thought into tangible form.

Thus, DefendersofDignity.org is envisioned as a venture that goes beyond the confines of law, answering a higher call for justice. It represents a commitment to blend legal acumen with theological insights to confront and address critical societal issues. Our website aspires to confront the injustices that erode human dignity by providing knowledge, support, and action, all rooted in a steadfast commitment to respect the inherent worth of every person.
